ROLE OVERVIEW:
This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining tack truck to spray bituminous asphalt cement oil on roadway surface.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturday as needed.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
1.Safely and properly operates truck equipped with oil or bituminous emulsions.
2. Connects hose from storage tank to truck tank and moves lever to fill pressure tank with bituminous liquid.
3. Regulate burners to heat liquid and start auxiliary pump.
4. Drives truck at constant speed.
5. Completes load tickets.
6. Assist construction crews while waiting to unload
7. Maintains proper information in truck cab pouch
8. Inventory and order tac
9. Clean tac nozzles
10. Barricade commercial parking lots
11. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
12. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on oil truck.
13. Assist crews with flagging as needed
14. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
15. Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITITES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)
  1. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
  1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent
  2. CDL Class B license in accordance with all state and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations.
  3. Must have and maintain medical card and acceptable driving record and required endorsements.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.)
  1. CDL Class A driver's license
  2. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
  3. Preference given for experience driving a belly dump, flow boy, lowboy, tanker or straight truck.

$26.00 - $30.00 depending on experience.
