Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide direct, hands-on support to active production lines, ensuring operational continuity and resolving issues that impact throughput, quality, or safety. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting production stops, repairing or redesigning tooling and fixtures, and supporting operators with real-time engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve production issues such as damaged or missing tools, defects, mold failures, and floor safety concerns.
- Provide hands-on support to production lines, ensuring smooth operation and addressing tooling repairs and floor issues.
- Design and modify fixtures using CAD software, primarily SolidWorks.
- Manage Requests for Engineering Assistance (REAs), involving updates to work instructions, material handling processes, and documentation.
- Collaborate with production leads, quality engineering, and operations to drive continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for tooling and fixture design.
- 1-3+ years of professional experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with process improvement and manufacturing process engineering.
- Ability to manage Requests for Engineering Assistance (REAs) and update documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with 3D printing, either at work or as a hobby.
- Experience with CATIA is a plus.
- Preferred experience with CMM, especially Laser CMM.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP systems is advantageous.
- Experience in the rubber industry and problem-solving skills would be ideal.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
This position is set in a manufacturing environment where hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting are integral. The role requires comfort with being on the production floor, working alongside engineers and operators. The work environment is dynamic and provides opportunities for growth with involvement in current projects. The position offers 2 weeks of PTO, 6 holidays, and sick time.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcminnville, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.50 - $38.50/hr.
