Description:
We are seeking anexperienced design lead in the field of III-V semiconductor lasers. As asuccessful candidate you will be a key member in our product development teamand be responsible for the design, development, and validation of nextgeneration semiconductor laser products for datacenters, telecommunications andemerging technologies. You will be challenged by collaborating beyond devicedesign with fab, CMs, marketing and customers. You will be working in an agileenvironment where your broad skill set will be utilized and furtherdeveloped.
Responsibilities:
- Design, simulation, design verification of DML, EML, SOA and CW semiconductor laser products.
- Close collaboration with the process development and product engineering teams to define fabrication process, mask layout, process flow and test requirements.
- Perform DFME/FMEA analyses.
- Co-ordinate and cross-teamwork among multiple MACOM entities and sites including the wafer Fab, product and application engineering, marketing, MACOM-RF and driver groups.
Requirements:
- PhD or MS in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the optoelectronics/photonic field with a proven track record in laser development/manufacture.
- Excellent familiarity with CW and high-speed laser physics, device characterization, reliability testing, qualification standards and strong characterization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the specific ability to speak to various technical and management levels.
- Excellent analytical skills are essential.
- Self-motivated, hard-working, fast learner and well-organized.
- Highly responsible, a good team player with good presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel when required.

The Salary Range forthis position is $98,000 - $167,000. Actual salary offered to candidate willdepend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location,relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, andabilities.
This position is eligible to receive restrictedstock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM's discretion, subjectto individual and company performance.
