Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) delivers direct rehabilitation services in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited speech therapy program (minimum MS or MA in SLP)
  • ASHA certified (CCCs) OR eligible for a 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to obtain ASHA certification (CCCs) and/or meet ASHA credentialing criteria. Once obtained, must maintain ASHA credentials.
  • Currently registered/licensed in the relevant state, with an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • One (1) year of experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
  • CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation. Must keep CPR certification current throughout employment.
Specific Job Responsibilities
  • Engage in community health initiatives/projects as appropriate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs
  • Maintain proper body mechanics at all times
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
  • Familiarity with practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in post-acute care facilities
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Foster professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
  • Uphold confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
  • Understand and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
  • Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training
Essential Duties
  • Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals
  • (SLP CCC only) Supervise and assess care provided by SLP CFYs
  • (SLP CFY only) Follow speech therapy treatment plans under the guidance of the supervising SLP CCC, in accordance with Federal and State regulations
  • Document care accurately and in a timely manner
  • Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of patients
  • Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
  • Apply reasoning skills and sound judgment
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
