Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, this position coordinates and manages the clinical application of best practice guidelines; assists case managers with clinical referrals; advises service coordination units on clinical best practice for individuals with behavioral challenges; monitors outcomes; provides technical assistance to local clinicians and service providers; and contributes expertise to statewide clinician trainings regarding behavioral services. The position works in close coordination with staff members and service providers in the community.

Under minimal supervision, the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst coordinates and manages the clinical application of best practice guidelines; assists case managers with clinical referrals; advises service coordination units on clinical best practice for individuals with behavioral challenges; monitors outcomes; provides technical assistance to local clinicians and service providers; and contributes expertise to statewide clinician trainings regarding behavioral services. The position works in close coordination with staff members and service providers in the community.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Monitors behavioral services for clients residing in Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes, through a combination of announced and unannounced in-person visits. Provides mentorship, quality assurance and technical assistance ensuring positive quality of life driven outcomes for clients served.
2. Monitors the Individual Behavior Supports Plan objectives for clients residing in Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes and prepares written documentation on the status of the objectives.
3. Participates as a member of the Individual Behavior Supports Team for clients residing in Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes. 
4. Develop, monitor, and enhance behavioral services for children and adults served by RCRC.
5. Provide consultation and training for Regional Center staff and vendored service providers, such as licensed homes, day activity providers, and other vendors regarding behavioral challenges / skill deficits exhibited by Clients with and without ASD.
6. Provide technical assistance quality assurance and oversight to service providers regarding development and implementation of skill acquisition and behavior deceleration plans including specific and eclectic effective methodologies. 
7. Provide assessment of available community services and screening/ consultation with existing or prospective service providers for the development of needed services and supports to meet Clients’ needs.
8. Participate in other state or community organizations and outreach activities, as needed.
9. Other duties related to role as assigned.

1. Clinical License – Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
2. At least 5 years developing and implementing behavioral objectives and service plans including experience with developmental disabilities and severe behavioral challenges.
3. Experience developing and implementing plans of support specific to individuals with developmental disabilities. Experience with an array of empirically and socially validated best practices pertaining to ID/DD ASD (ABA, TEACCH, DRI, RDI, AAC/AT, Positive psychology, etc.).
4. Provision of direct services, support, and training in a community service setting and experience in a consultant supervisory or quality improvement role required.
5. Background in OBM is extremely desirable. 

1. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support training and interventions.
2. Knowledge of basic human development and developmental disabilities, including instructional strategies and the development of communication, social, sensory, and cognitive skills.
3. Understanding of individualized, Client and family focused assessment, planning and intervention techniques for persons with developmental disabilities and/or ASD.
4. Knowledge of best practice for individuals with DD/ ID including ASD
5. Familiarity with community-based services and supports for these populations; basic knowledge of regulatory requirements for licensed homes and services is extremely desirable.
6. Knowledge of nutrition/feeding of individuals with DD/ID including ASD desirable
7. Training and consultation skills including understanding of adult learning principles.
8. Ability to work as part of a team including multi-disciplinary professionals, community service providers, individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders and family members.
9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This position may require travel involving overnight trips throughout the four counties served by RCRC and meetings in other California cities. The position requires a reliable form of transportation, possession of a valid driver’s license, minimum vehicle insurance as prescribed by law, or the ability for independent transportation.

1. This position is an exempt position that is supervised by the Director of Clinical Services.
2. This position requires extensive sitting in office settings, for meetings and travel. Frequent walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds with occasional bending, stooping, reaching and stretching to complete work duties. Adequate manual dexterity and coordination for operation of automobile, computer and other standard office equipment. Any of the above with reasonable accommodation.
3. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and at times, to cope with complex and potentially stressful situations.
