Title: Unit Resource Coordinator (URC)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Objective:

The Unit Resource Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of patient medical records, communication internally and externally, acquisition of stock and patient supplies, completion of log books and coordination of ongoing activities at the Nurses' station. Represents Luminis Health RISE Values in every interaction with patients, families, co-workers, and colleagues.

Essential Job Duties:

Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges

  1. Collaborates with hospital personnel to ensure optimal patient care and promote a positive working environment in Unit and Hospital.
  2. Manage unit call volumes
  3. Coordinates communication on patient care unit
  4. Maintains patient medical records to ensure they are current and accurate
  5. Maintains patient and unit supplies economically and efficiently, including PPE
  6. Coordinates communication at the Nurses' Station and patient care unit
  7. Participates in programs designed to increase the quality of patient care.
  8. Maintains nurse call and monitoring system
  9. Conducts Environmental care rounds
  10. Maintain work orders
  11. Welcome and escort unit visitors
  12. Facilitates discharge coordination which includes transportation arrangements and discharge packets
  13. Coordinates unit ASCOM messages
  14. *Assists all healthcare partners such as PT, OT, Speech, Providers, and case managers
  15. Manage bed board and patient disposition
  16. Distribute staff communication
  17. Assist unit leadership with unit projects as assigned
  18. Scheduling for infusion center ( for 3 floor only)

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One-year previous Unit Clerk experience or in a clerical position in a similar health care setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology

  • N/A
