What is an AS9100 Quality Management System?

An AS9100 Quality Management System is a standardized framework specifically designed for organizations in the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries to ensure the highest levels of quality and safety. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard with additional requirements tailored to the unique demands of these industries. Implementing AS9100 helps companies consistently meet customer requirements, improve processes, and comply with regulatory and statutory requirements. Certification to AS9100 is often required by major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers. The standard covers areas such as risk management, product safety, configuration management, and supplier control.
