Department: Client Site Liaisons - 916

Primary Purpose:

Organizes and monitors training in the Client Site Liaison department of new and existing employees. Creates training curriculum, content, material, and oversees the training process. Prepares a training schedule by effectively arranging subject matter experts within multiple training modules. Monitors annual competency testing CEU’s, and mandatory training for all employees. Helps to implement new programs and processes. Continually improves training within the department to provide the highest level of client and patient care.

Essential Functions:

Works with department supervisor to provide ARUP new hire orientation and job specific training to all new and existing employees.

Demonstrates initiative to train Liaisons in specimen processing, packaging specimens in accordance with DOT/IATA regulations, ARUP Test Directory, and in becoming a liaison between the client site and ARUP. In the absence of the subject matter experts, trainers will present the curriculum on Client Services, ARUP Connect, Referral Testing, Exception Handling, and Quality and Compliance.

Ensures all necessary training documentation are complete for new and existing employees. Develops new and ongoing trainings.

Assists in creating and reviewing MasterControl documents, creates and maintains accurate Salesforce records, and manages the internal Sharepoint website for the department.

Schedules and hosts monthly training one-on-ones with all Liaisons for process review, implementation of new processes, and trends associated with client specific Except reduction.

Organizes orientation for new employees and establishes an effective learning environment. Provides tours of ARUP for new employees.

Mentors new employees through effective communication, proper instruction, and teaching principles while introducing them to ARUP during week long, job specific training.

Monitors employees for the first 6 weeks of employment. Retrains employees as needed and/or required and maintains the appropriate documentation.

Assists management with team projects of medium complexity and size, and develops beta testing protocols, training documents, and organizes participant feedback.

Acts as a resource to troubleshoot issues or concerns, and answers Liaisons questions related to process, policy, and procedure. Receives and handles problems, troubleshoots issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate.

Maintains effective communication with Liaisons in the field and notifies supervisor of issues; collaborates with other internal departments throughout the organization. Personally responsible for exceptional and professional communication in interactions with all clients of ARUP.

Participates and frequently presents content for weekly departmental staff meetings.

Assists Supervisor with Quality Assurance monitoring and documentation.

Develops and maintains knowledge of procedures pertaining to specimen processing. Be competent in both inpatient and outpatient support services related skills, tasks, responsibilities, workflows, and processes. Maintains competency in specimen processing and functions as a processor when needed.

Travels periodically to client locations for training and coverage. Coordinates travel arrangements, tracks and submits expense reports according to ARUP policy. When at the client site, will act as a liaison between ARUP management and client site management to problem solve, create process documents, and create standardized workflows.

Prepares summaries of each client site/Liaison visit and reports pertinent information.

Ensures excellent attention to detail, develops essential critical thinking skills in areas of responsibility and demonstrates initiative to assist where needed.

Uses a good measure of personal tact, integrity and judgement when dealing with employees within the department.

Pulls and organizes data and reports for projects as requested by management and account executives.

Works effectively in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Organization skills: Ability to effectively manage concurrent demands, multi task, be detail oriented, and highly structured.

Travel: Ability to travel off-site 25% of time
