Savannah State University established in 1890, is the first public historically black college or university in the state of Georgia and the first institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The university's students select majors from five colleges:
- Business Administration

- Engineering and Computing

- Science and Humanities
Job Summary
The College of Media, Arts, and Communication (CMAC) at Savannah State University is seeking part-time faculty applications for academic year 2026-2027. Courses may be taught in the following departments:
- Journalism and Mass Communications
- Visual and Performing Arts
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and communicate instruction in ways that encourage and stimulate student learning
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies that facilitate and promote student success
- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with college and university policies
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress
- Submit immediate alerts in EAB when students are at risk
- Submit mid-term and final grade reports by the set University deadlines as well as completed course assessment forms at the end of each semester
- Maintain professional ism and confidentiality in regards to student interaction and information
- Comply with all university academic policies
- Master's degree in a related field with 18 credit hours in one of the aforementioned subject areas
- Post secondary teaching experience
