Job description

SELECTION PROCESS:
Personnel will review applications for satisfaction of minimum qualification standards. Those applicants evidencing the required qualifications will be invited for an interview evaluation. The interview panel will provide the Superintendent with the top candidates for final selection.
POSITION DEFINITION:
The substitute teacher, under the supervision of the principal, will perform a variety of instructional and curriculum tasks related to the education of elementary and secondary (K-6) students in the absence of the regular teacher.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the instruction of students and multicultural students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher as it relates to the Nuview course of study with strengths in language arts, social studies, reading, mathematics, art, science, physical education, and music.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
DOJ Clearance before first day of duty.
Credentials: The applicant should hold, or be able to qualify for appropriate valid California Teaching credential; or have a Bachelors degree and taken and passed the CBEST test.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
A desire to create an environment conducive to academic and personal growth and demonstrate the ability to work successfully with culturally diverse student population.
