What is an arts commission?

An Arts Commission is a governmental or independent body dedicated to supporting, promoting, and advancing the arts within a community, city, or region. These commissions typically provide funding, resources, and advocacy for local artists and cultural organizations. They may organize public art projects, advise on cultural policy, distribute grants, and foster collaborations between artists and the public.
