Résidence Ô St-François, a care and living community for retired people, is seeking a recreation technician/recreationist to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent is responsible for creating a dynamic and entertaining living environment for residents, both independent and those with reduced autonomy, by offering them a diverse schedule of activities. This person will be responsible for planning, organizing, carrying out and leading cultural, social, artistic and sporting activities for all residents, both on the independent side of the residence and in the care unit. Labor relations: The post holder maintains contact with all residence staff, families and residents. The post holder will be in contact with various external stakeholders (external suppliers, etc.) Responsibilities: Develop residence activity calendars and special events; Disseminates communications on internal and external networks; Plan, organize, carry out, lead or supervise leisure activities; Lead activities and ensure the participation of residents, including the care unit; Promote the residence’s activities to residents; Organize themed meals, conferences on various subjects, courses or training, as well as outdoor outings; Ensure the decoration of the premises during special events; Coordinate internal communications between departments related to leisure activities; Oversee the supply of the service and the sound management of equipment and resources; Ensure sound management of your budget; Coordinate and support the existing volunteer team and encourage voluntary involvement in the residence; Ensure daily presence and activities in the care unit; Any other related tasks. TRAINING: College diploma (DEC) in leisure intervention techniques or other relevant training EXPERIENCE : 3 years of relevant experience working with elderly people in residences; KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Have great ease in working with the elderly; Be creative in order to develop new recreational approaches; Have initiative, good interpersonal skills and be dynamic Good oral and written communication skills in French; Good command of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Concern for a job well done, reliability, punctuality; Adaptability, team spirit; Customer service oriented approach; Sense of responsibility, autonomy, priority management.
