The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub of the University of Oregon, serving nearly two-thirds of all students. The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Oregon serves a variety of students with a wide range of needs and interests. The faculty of this department are committed to a liberal arts approach to theatre education, and to maintaining the highest standards both in academic pursuits and in performance. We deeply believe in the value of theatre as a form of cultural formation and communication as well as a pathway for personal growth.

The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Oregon seeks to establish a pool of qualified candidates interested in Pro Tem Instructor positions. Depending on departmental needs and candidate qualifications, instructional assignments may include lower or upper division courses, such as the History of The Theater course series.
Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Master's degree in Theater Arts, Drama, or related field.
One (1) year post-secondary instructional experience.

Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to contribute to institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

PhD in Theater Arts, Drama, or related field.
Three (3) years post-secondary instructional experience.
