Job Description
The CNA/NURS 128 Instructional Assistant is required to be a certified CNA and plays a vital role in supporting the instructional process within the Nursing Assistant (CNA) and NURS 128 labs. This position involves assisting instructors by setting up for skills teaching and testing, as well as maintaining lab supplies to ensure the labs are fully equipped and organized. Additionally, the Instructional Assistant helps facilitate student learning by ensuring the labs are well-prepared for effective practice and assessment of clinical skills. The role is integral to creating an organized and efficient learning environment that supports both the instructors and students in achieving their educational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Before Regular lab:
  • Put away any necessary linen, supplies and organize supplies in lab
  • Restock lab as necessary
  • Set up for skills teaching (place equipment out on table)

During lab:
  • Answer student questions
  • Make sure students are on task
  • Help students transport mannequins to/from beds
  • Direct students to equipment needed for skill supplies

During Skills Testing:
  • Help the instructor by copying skills testing packets
  • Set up for skills testing in the directed areas
  • Return supplies to designated areas after testing

NURS 129 lab:
  • Set up lab for skills teachings
  • Assist students with skills that have been demonstrated by instructor
  • Set up for skills testing at the end of the term
  • Aid students who may be struggling with skill performance

Additional duties:
  • Ensure state testing supplies (bins) and linen is stocked and prepared
  • Routinely inventory supply room and add low stock to supply board
  • Notify faculty if stock is urgently low
  • Help maintain linen: launder, fold and restock lab

Proposed Hours:
8-10 Hours a week for 10 weeks; Availability: Flexible
