Qualifications
Experience and Education Requirements
- Custodial experience in a school or multi-building office/commercial space preferred
- Valid driver's license preferred
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with students, faculty and staff at all levels of the university
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and work well in a team environment
- Be able to climb and work from ladders and lifts
- Have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis; up to 50 lbs. on occasion
- Have the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, squat, pulling, reaching and spend majority of shift on your feet
- Observe safety guidelines and follows procedure established by the university
- Be able to work nights and weekends if position requires it
- Be able to work outside in the elements year-round
Physical Demands
- Light work. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.
