Clarity Partners is seeking a Business Intelligence Data Analyst local to Chicago, IL. This role will support the development of analytical datasets, Power BI dashboards, and reporting solutions that help drive operational and strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong SQL and Power BI experience, analytical problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset. This position will report in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize analytical datasets, database views, and reporting solutions using SQL Server, Oracle databases, and ETL frameworks.
  • Design and maintain semantic data models that support Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics initiatives.
  • Build, enhance, and support Power BI reports and dashboards for operational, engineering, maintenance, and strategic business functions.
  • Perform data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
  • Create and optimize DAX measures, report performance, and dashboard usability as reporting complexity grows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, clarify business logic, and deliver actionable BI solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into prototypes, dashboards, and production-ready reporting tools.
  • Support ad hoc reporting and analytical requests across cross-functional business teams.
  • Maintain report user access, security permissions, and governance standards within Power BI Report Server (PBIRS).
  • Contribute to documentation, metric definitions, dashboard user guides, and reporting standards.
  • Apply data visualization and user experience best practices to improve dashboard usability and adoption.
  • Stay current on BI trends, data governance standards, and analytics best practices.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, report design, and dashboard development.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing relational datasets.
  • Experience working with enterprise operational systems and large datasets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting KPI dashboards, operational reporting, or executive reporting initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with PBIRS, GIS concepts, EAM systems, or asset-related datasets preferred.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts including star schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables preferred.
  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or operations environments is a plus.
  • Power BI, SQL, or related analytics certifications preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Business Intelligence Engineer, the base salary pay range is $85,000-$110,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
