Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Product Management department, this role is responsible for conducting plausibility checks for all new items. This process is a critical component of both the quoting and new product setup workflows, ensuring the highest level of data integrity in customer-facing offers and maintaining consistency and uniqueness in product item codes within the information system. Early identification and definition of technical requirements support efficient quote turnaround, improves supplier response times, and ensures the accuracy and reliability of item master data across systems.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
This is an onsite job, working at one of our following locations: Bondurant, IA; Brookyln Park, MN; Gainesville, GA; Greenwood, IN; Roanoke, VA; Sanford, FL

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and revise item data to ensure completeness and accuracy of technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Evaluate new product items for potential duplication or overlap with the existing product range.
  • Collaborate regularly with internal teams including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quoting to support product setup and quoting processes.
  • Confirm that appropriate tariff codes are accurately assigned to all product item codes in accordance with trade compliance standards.
  • Provide timely and responsive support to internal stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Partner with global product management teams to maintain and improve the integrity and consistency of the company’s standard part catalog.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Engineering technologist/technician degree or strong technical background strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with standard fasteners and custom per-print items.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
  • High level of self-responsibility and initiative; demonstrates ownership of tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally, to collaborate with teams and participate in training related to product item code setup and processes.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work effectively with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact across departments and with international colleagues.

 

Compensation: $50,000 - $95,000 per year

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
