Job Summary
The Work Study Student will support the Department of Art as a Gallery Assistant on the Savannah Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Employment is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Gallery Director in all duties associated with exhibitions at the Armstrong campus art gallery
  • Opens and/or closes the gallery as needed
  • Helps with exhibition installation and receptions
  • Helps maintain the gallery as needed, and acts as general attendant when the gallery is open

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 12 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM
  • Availability once a month for reception hours, 5 PM - 7 PM

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with art handling
  • Familiarity with power tools
  • Experience with basic computer skills (word processing)

Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
