Job Summary:
Title: Graphic Designer - Motion
Location: New York, NY (On-Site, 5 days a week in office)
Reports to: Jr. Art Director
Portfolio: Required - either link or PDF
The Role:
Roc Nation is seeking a Graphic Designer - Motion to work in our NYC office and report directly to the Jr. Art Director. The position requires the ability to design to various client needs in collaboration with the wider creative team.
Candidates must have an understanding of Roc Nation's aesthetics and branding, past and current content, and be able to identify opportunities for growth with a high level of execution and knowledge of what's trending in entertainment and culture at large.
Responsibilities:
  • The Motion Designer has a solid foundation in design principles and can own the full design process from ideation to completion
  • Be the primary resource for the execution of motion graphics for our Creative team
  • Pre-determine motion design needs and challenges, while addressing them proactively, and efficiently with custom and templatized solutions
  • Assist in the development and production of graphic assets, image creation, typography, and designs alongside the Art Director and Graphic Design Team
  • Assist in creating and producing Advertising, Marketing, and all collateral materials
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including creative, digital, brand and artist marketing to fulfill asset needs
  • Brainstorm and develop innovative ideas with the team
  • Uphold the standards of the Roc Nation brand
  • All other duties, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other:
  • Refined visual design skills- sense of timing, layout, transitions, and storytelling
  • Demonstrate thought leadership across multi-disciplinary design
  • Collaborate with other designers and our creative team to produce cohesive graphics across multiple platforms and formats, including print / digital campaigns, videos, and internal company presentations
  • Genuine interest in commercial arts and the entertainment industry
  • Willingness to learn; ability to take direction and adapt to change
  • Organized in schedule and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient understanding of typography, color, and design language
  • Ability to work with direction from creative team/clients

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 2+ years or more of experience in motion design and visual communication, preferably in the entertainment sector, or other fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign)
  • PDF portfolio or online portfolio required

The expected compensation for this position is:
$64,000.00 USD - $80,000.00 USD
