How much do art class model jobs pay per hour?

As of Sep 6, 2026, the average hourly pay for art class model in Colorado is $20.51, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.15 and $25.29 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is an art class model?

Art class models are individuals who pose for artists, students, or instructors during drawing, painting, or sculpture classes. Their primary role is to hold various poses, sometimes nude or partially clothed, for set periods of time to help artists study and practice capturing the human form. Art class models contribute significantly to art education by providing live references that help improve observational skills and anatomical accuracy.

What does an art class model do?

Art class models serve as the primary subject of an art class project. In this role, you pose for students in the studio in a manner requested by their instructor; you are allowed some breaks, but you must resume that same pose for the duration of the class. In some cases, you might hold multiple poses to display a range of motion for the students drawing you. You may be asked to wear specific kinds of clothing, or your employer may request you pose nude; most art class models are independent contractors and can choose which jobs to accept. You may pose for art classes at a college or university or at a private art studio for one person or a group of students.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an art class model, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Art Class Model, you need body awareness, the ability to hold poses for extended periods, and reliability, with some positions requiring prior experience or a portfolio. Familiarity with studio settings and posing platforms is helpful, though formal certifications are generally not required. Professionalism, punctuality, and the ability to take direction make someone stand out in this position. These skills and qualities are crucial to help artists achieve accurate figure studies and maintain a productive, respectful classroom environment.

What are some common challenges faced by art class models, and how can they prepare for them?

Art class models often encounter challenges such as holding poses for extended periods, maintaining comfort and concentration, and adapting to different classroom environments. To prepare, it's helpful to practice a variety of poses at home and develop techniques for staying still, such as steady breathing and mental focus. Models should also communicate openly with instructors about breaks, comfort levels, and any physical limitations to ensure a positive and productive experience for both themselves and the students.

What is the difference between Art Class Model vs Art Instructor?

AspectArt Class ModelArt Instructor
CredentialsNone required, often selected for appearance and ability to hold posesArt education, teaching certifications often preferred
Work EnvironmentArt studios, classrooms, or private sessionsClassrooms, art schools, community centers
Employer & Industry UsageArt schools, colleges, private studiosEducational institutions, art programs
Primary RoleModel for drawing or painting classesTeaching art techniques and guiding students

While an Art Class Model primarily poses for students to draw or paint, an Art Instructor teaches art techniques and guides students through creative processes. Both roles are essential in art education but serve different functions within the learning environment.

How much do art class models get paid?

Art class models typically earn between $15 and $30 per hour, depending on the location, the type of class, and the experience of the model. Pay rates can vary based on whether the modeling is for life drawing, anatomy classes, or private sessions, and some models may be paid per session rather than hourly.

How to model for an art class?

To model for an art class, you should maintain a steady, natural pose and stay still for the duration of the session. Good posture, patience, and the ability to hold poses for several minutes are important, and models often work with artists using drawing or painting materials in a studio setting.

Thrive Health Systems is looking for Associate Doctors who want to live in Colorado, or ideally, already live and are licensed in Colorado.
We prefer our associate doctors to have 1+ years out of school and have worked at least one other company.
As an Associate Doctor, you will work with a Senior Doctor as a team, and you will start treating patients and develop into communicating and managing patients results, if you demonstrate the capability to do so.
Some of our Associates remain Associates and some promote to our second level of doctor, depending on their desires and demonstrated and measured capability.
To be a successful Associate, the following is necessary:
  • An enjoyment for working hard (our doctors work at least 40 hrs/wk)
  • A willingness and ability to learn
  • Foundational doctor skills to treat patients and do no harm
  • Diagnosis skills and the ability to communicate with other practitioners
  • Treatment skills, ideally beyond the Chiropractic adjustment
  • A full health care philosophy that can meet the market and speak to the 80% of chronic illnesses, not simply back pain, that Americans’ suffer from
  • Google Suite computer skills
  • EHR skills
  • Notes and Charges skills
  • Spreadsheet skills
  • High social skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Communication skills

Why work with us?
Our company has proven its ability to develop doctors into leaders of multi-million dollar practices when we find capable people.  We believe we are the highest paying company in the US.
We successfully serve 1000s of patients a week and we have the case studies to prove it. We manage what we measure, and we measure a lot.
We have a unique practice model that offers doctors the ability to practice their art, within a flexible business model that still has the structure necessary to gain results. We would definitely fall into the “mixer” category rather than “straight” chiropractic; however, we perform 1000s of adjustments a week.
We have 4 levels of doctoring at our company, and if you have the capability and character to work hard in one direction for some time while successfully growing yourself and your practice, then you can start as an Associate Doctor and end up owning a practice and making over $500,000+. We’ve proven this.
Here is a short list of the tools you have to work with:
  • Omni drop Tables
  • Arthrostim
  • Lumbar and Cervical Spinal Decompression
  • Functional Medicine
  • Class IV Laser Therapy
  • Blood, stool, and hair labs
  • Digital X-ray
  • ChiroTouch Practice Software
  • Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP) Analysis Software
  • Flexion Distraction Tables
  • Traction
  • Functional Movement Systems
  • Massage Therapy
  • Atlas Orthogonal
  • Graston Tools

You might be wondering how you can make this dream come true? We’ve already proven our ability to utilize these tools to create amazing health care results. We have the systems and know-how. The question is whether you can deliver your part.
  • Your part looks like having the knowledge to lead patients from pain and sickness to health. Can you do that? Can you manage cases and obtain measurable, accountable health care results?

  • You also have to be able to effectively communicate with patients, staff, executives and other doctors.  Can you do that?

  • You have to care and you’ll likely have to be a leader. Are you about that?

  • Can you help patients understand their condition and motivate action?

  • Do you have integrity, do what you say, care about your name in the community? Do you put service to others before yourself and strive for excellence in all you do?

This is what it takes to be a Associate Doctor. It’s kind of a high bar; and a lot of your peers graduating alongside you will not have the character, capability or grit to do it. We ask for a lot, because it is a heck of an opportunity, and your patients deserve you being a leader.
If you think you can hurdle this bar, give us a call.
I know, I know; it might sound too good to be true. I’ve even had doctors say, “It’s like you made my dream a reality.” Well, that’s exactly what we did. After 13 years in business, we think we have a pretty good idea about what Chiropractors wish for in a job. And then we built that.
If you think you can achieve the things mentioned above, give us a call at 719.238.5246.
