Job description

Job Summary:
NEOGOV, part of the Sarasota County Government, is seeking an IT Professional I to maintain and support the court systemโ€™s circuit-wide and statewide connections as well as the Countyโ€™s Wide Area Network. The role involves planning and organizing software and database implementations, providing technical support to end users, and maintaining hardware and software components.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Plans, organizes, implements software and databases
โ€ข Installs Microsoft, and other vendorโ€™s software application on Circuit desktops
โ€ข Coordinates the requesting and installation of other elected officials software applications on Circuit desktops
โ€ข Provides technical support and guidance to end users
โ€ข Installs, maintains and provides support for hardware, software and peripheral components
โ€ข Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software and peripheral components
โ€ข Answers user inquiries in person and via telephone concerning system operation; diagnoses system hardware, software and operator problems; recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation
โ€ข Creates and analyzes reports
โ€ข Produces reports to determine hardware refresh schedules
โ€ข Prepares and reports copier statistics to vendor
โ€ข Creates and maintains database records
โ€ข Developed and maintains Circuit County and state hardware and software inventory database
โ€ข Trains employees on the use of hardware, software and reports
โ€ข Instructs Circuit users in use of equipment, software and manuals
โ€ข Acts as liaison to other user groups
โ€ข Interacts with county and other elected officials IT staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Minimum of a two-year degree with one-year of related experience - OR - a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other relevant field with some related experience.
โ€ข Experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of management.
โ€ข Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming.
โ€ข Knowledge of office methods and procedures and research techniques.
โ€ข Skills in identifying and correcting hardware and software problems.
โ€ข Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.
โ€ข Subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.
โ€ข The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
Preferred:
โ€ข Two (2) years related business work experience and use of related software programs preferred.
