Job description

Job Summary:
NEOGOV, part of the Sarasota County Government, is seeking an IT Professional I to maintain and support the court system’s circuit-wide and statewide connections as well as the County’s Wide Area Network. The role involves planning and organizing software and database implementations, providing technical support to end users, and maintaining hardware and software components.
Responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes, implements software and databases
• Installs Microsoft, and other vendor’s software application on Circuit desktops
• Coordinates the requesting and installation of other elected officials software applications on Circuit desktops
• Provides technical support and guidance to end users
• Installs, maintains and provides support for hardware, software and peripheral components
• Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software and peripheral components
• Answers user inquiries in person and via telephone concerning system operation; diagnoses system hardware, software and operator problems; recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation
• Creates and analyzes reports
• Produces reports to determine hardware refresh schedules
• Prepares and reports copier statistics to vendor
• Creates and maintains database records
• Developed and maintains Circuit County and state hardware and software inventory database
• Trains employees on the use of hardware, software and reports
• Instructs Circuit users in use of equipment, software and manuals
• Acts as liaison to other user groups
• Interacts with county and other elected officials IT staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of a two-year degree with one-year of related experience - OR - a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other relevant field with some related experience.
• Experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of management.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming.
• Knowledge of office methods and procedures and research techniques.
• Skills in identifying and correcting hardware and software problems.
• Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.
• Subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.
• The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
Preferred:
• Two (2) years related business work experience and use of related software programs preferred.
