Job Description
Our Bakers prepare desserts and baked goods according to recipe and standards. Essential functions include but are not limited to: โ€ข
Prepare desserts and baked goods according to recipes and standards. โ€ข Check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake. โ€ข Roll, cut, and shape dough to form rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, and related products. โ€ข Observe products while cooking and adjust controls. โ€ข Mix icings and other toppings and decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods. โ€ข Use a variety of kitchen tools, including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools. โ€ข Research/develop new recipes. โ€ข Must be able to prioritize and plan production to maximize efficiency. โ€ข Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and state health codes. โ€ข Prepare all items according to set standards. โ€ข Keeps abreast of techniques, preparations, ingredients and any other topics related to the area of desserts in the culinary industry.
We are currently looking to fill a 12-8 pm shift and/or a 2-10 pm shift. Applicants should be available to work either of the mentioned shifts.
Qualifications
Requirements: โ€ข High school education, GED, or equivalent experience. โ€ข Culinary degree or certification highly preferred. โ€ข Three years of previous baking experience in a high volume hotel, conference center or resort. โ€ข Working knowledge of all measuring devices, mixing strategies, and equipment associated with preparing such items as pastries, breads, sweets, ice cream, fillings, and toppings. โ€ข Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed. โ€ข Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. โ€ข Exhibit good working knowledge of meeting or exceeding budgeting labor/food cost. โ€ข
