Job description

To provide cleaning services and maintenance assistance for Social Services.  Responsible for maintaining the center premises and its equipment in a clean, safe, healthy, and comfortable condition inside and outside.


  • Complete all cleaning assignments as given by the supervisor in a timely and orderly fashion, following instructions and using the correct materials
  • Report any facility problems to the Supervisor immediately.
  • Complete any spreadsheets as asked to show work done
  • Responsible for sharing information with the Corps Commanding Officer, all matters are of mutual concern.
  • Use correct supplies and equipment for the right surfaces, becoming knowledgeable in this area.
  • Conduct all work and relationships at work in a professional manner, adhering to The Salvation Army Employee Manual.
  • Fulfill any other tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis requested by the Commanding Officer.
  • Be willing and available to work on special events as indicated.
  • Responsible for submitting monthly inventory.
  • In Food Services, follows guidelines for that area and fulfil tasks as asked, accepting any duties assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the program participants and staff.
  • Participate in conferences and regular staff meetings as required.
  • Participate in workshops as required for the job.
  • Duties include floor maintenance, garbage removal, cleaning of bathrooms, windows, offices, snow removal, and multiple other janitorial duties.
  • Please orders to the food bank and maintain stats
  • Once a week thorough cleaning of interior, including windows, seats, floor, etc.
  • Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures, floors, and partitions daily.
  • Sweep and mop all hard floor surfaces daily and buff when necessary.
  • The Salvation Army has the right to modify, delete, or add to this job description.

  • Must be able to do heavy lifting.
  • Must have basic knowledge of tools and maintenance routines.
  • Responsible, respectful, positive role model, and must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility management or janitorial.
  • Ability to maintain a clean environment in the facility.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have computer knowledge.
