Job description

Inova 1800 Beauregard is looking for a dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead (Mammo) to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead Job Responsibilities: 

  • The Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure patient safety. Demonstrates an initiative to stay abreast of current technology and show evidence of professional growth. 
  • Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, which may include but not limited to, ensuring team is meeting key-deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.
  • Obtains clinical history/informed consent from patients or patients' charts to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.
  • Coordinates new team member and student department orientation/training. Assists with patient and team member scheduling to enhance the productivity of the department.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of accredited school/program of radiography, Nuclear Medicine or MRI certification from ARMRIT or CAMRT, or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Certification:  
    • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start
    • Must be certified by at least one of the following upon start: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT), Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); as applicable with additional certification in an applicable imaging modality required - Mammo.
  • Experience:  
    • Three years of Imaging experience in an applicable modality, X-Ray or Ultrasound or Cat Scan or Mammography or MRI or Interventional Radiology or Nuclear Medicine in a hospital/healthcare environment,
    • Recent hospital experience.
