Familiarity with surveillance systems, access control technology, and completion of firearms training or security certifications are common requirements. What is an armed security guard?

Armed security guards are licensed professionals who are trained to protect people and property while carrying firearms. Their duties often include monitoring security systems, patrolling premises, responding to emergencies, and deterring criminal activity. Armed security guards must meet strict qualifications, including background checks and firearms training, to ensure they can safely and legally carry weapons on the job. They typically work in high-risk environments such as banks, government buildings, or events where greater security is required. Their presence helps enhance safety and provide a rapid response to potential threats.
