What is armed executive protection?

Armed executive protection refers to specialized security services provided to high-profile individuals, such as corporate executives, celebrities, or political figures, by trained professionals who are licensed to carry firearms. These protection agents assess potential threats, plan secure travel routes, and maintain a visible or discreet presence to deter and respond to security risks. Their duties include risk assessment, emergency response, and sometimes coordination with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of their clients in various environments.

What are the typical day-to-day responsibilities of an armed executive protection professional?

An Armed Executive Protection professional's daily responsibilities often include conducting advance security assessments of locations, planning secure routes, and performing threat analysis for their clients. They accompany executives during travel and events, maintaining a discreet but vigilant presence to ensure safety. Collaboration with local law enforcement and venue security teams is common, and staying updated on potential security threats is a key part of the job. Documentation of incidents and regular communication with the client and protection team are also important tasks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an armed executive protection professional?
