Job description

Job Title: Network & Security Engineer

Location: New York, NY 10281 (Hybrid) 3 days

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Position Overview

Experienced Network & Security Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance its mission-critical global banking infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise network environments while supporting business-critical applications across a highly regulated financial services environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies, security platforms, and production support, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement secure, resilient infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, support, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, and DMZ environments.

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Manage and support network security platforms, including firewalls, load balancers, and secure remote access solutions.

Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Arista switching infrastructure.

Configure and support routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and other enterprise networking technologies.

Monitor network performance, availability, and security while proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Support high-availability network architecture and disaster recovery initiatives.

Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and implementation of new network technologies.

Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for critical network incidents and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as required.

Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure connectivity and compliance with banking standards.

Maintain network documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and internal governance requirements applicable to financial institutions.

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of experience as a Network & Security Engineer or in a similar enterprise networking role.

Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure in a financial services or other highly regulated environment.

 

Strong hands-on experience with:

Enterprise LAN/WAN technologies

VPN technologies

DMZ architecture

Routing and switching

Network troubleshooting

Experience with:

Fortinet Firewalls

F5 Load Balancers

Arista Switching

Strong understanding of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and VLAN technologies.

Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

 

Required Certification

Arista Certified Engineering Associate (ACE-A / Level 1) certification or higher (Level 3 preferred).

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within global banking or financial services organizations.

Knowledge of network segmentation, Zero Trust, and enterprise security best practices.

Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery network architectures.

Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.

Experience with automation and scripting for network administration is a plus.
