Work Location: Chantilly, VA
Primary Function: Design, integrate, and test network solutions
Secondary Function: Document, maintain, and troubleshoot network implementations Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer with 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the stability, integrity, and performance of enterprise services. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong understanding of security. Primary Responsibilities: • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and cloud-based network solutions to optimize service delivery. • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues. • Maintain and upgrade routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.). • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewall rules, intrusion detection/prevention, and access controls. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments and cross domain issues. • Lead or participate in network-related projects, migrations, and integrations. • Document network topologies, configurations, and processes. • Maintain compliance with industry standards and security best practices. • Provide Tier 3 support and mentor junior engineers. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in network engineering roles. • Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.). • Strong experience with Cisco or equivalent enterprise networking equipment. • Solid understanding of network security principles and tools (firewalls, VPNs, NAC, etc.). • Hands-on experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus. • Familiarity with enterprise network monitoring tools • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIE or AWS Networking Specialty are highly desirable. • An existing DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Certification; higher levels preferred. • TS or TS/SCI clearance Preferred Skills: • Experience with SD-WAN technologies. • Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.). • VOIP and unified communications experience (e.g., Cisco CUCM). • Experience with network segmentation and zero trust architectures. Soft Skills: • Self-driven • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
