Job description

Located within walking distance of Nationwide Arena and the trendy Arena District, Hyatt Regency Columbus redefines the modern hotel experience. We offer 633 renovated guest rooms and spacious suites and 70,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. We are connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center and steps to the Short North Arts District, ours is the hotel in which to meet and play in downtown Columbus.

What does the ROLE entail?
  • Responsible for the oversight of safety and security for hotel guests and colleagues
  • Strong guest service orientation in order to ensure high guest expectations
  • Oversight of supervision and development of security team
  • Responsible for training and developing the team of security officers
  • Respond to guest and colleague emergencies and requests
  • Act as liaison between security and other hotel departments
  • Train hotel staff as needed - present safety information at new hire orientation
  • Other duties may include assisting the front desk and other departments as needed with guest requests and concerns
  • Provide guests with a safe and caring environment and ensure interactions with guests result in a positive experience
  • Patrol hotel and hit touch points to ensure all areas are monitored
  • Understand emergency manual and follow proper procedures
  • Incident reporting
  • Attend and participate in Hotel's Safety Committee
  • Support other operating departments as needed
  • Attend Security meetings for the City of Columbus when needed
  • CCTV monitoring, saving and exporting necessary footage when needed
  • Represent the hotel in security-related legal and law enforcement matters, including court appearances and supporting the prosecution of individuals involved in trespassing, theft, vandalism, or other criminal activity on hotel property.
  • Serve as the hotel's primary liaison with law enforcement, prosecutors, legal counsel, and government agencies regarding security incidents, investigations, trespassing and unauthorized individuals, and related legal proceedings.
  • Coordinate the receipt and appropriate handling of subpoenas, summonses, requests for records, and other legal documentation, while maintaining necessary reports, surveillance, evidence, and records to support investigations and legal proceedings.
  • Maintain relationship with Special Improvement District and GCCC Security

Preferred Experience:
  • 4 years + security management experience preferred
  • Security experience in an upscale environment is preferred
