Company Description American Arena League is a professional arena football league focused on delivering exciting, community-centered sports entertainment. The league brings together teams, athletes, and fans in markets across the United States to promote competitive play and fan engagement. American Arena League emphasizes accessible, family-friendly events and meaningful partnerships with local businesses and organizations. As the league grows, it is expanding its marketing efforts to increase brand visibility, enhance the fan experience, and support team success on and off the field.

Role Description This contract Marketing Intern role is a hybrid position based in Boerne, TX, with a mix of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will support day-to-day marketing activities, including assisting with social media content, coordinating promotional campaigns, and helping develop materials that promote league events and initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting basic market research, tracking fan engagement metrics, helping with email marketing and community outreach, and supporting sales and sponsorship efforts as needed. The intern will collaborate with league staff and team representatives to ensure consistent messaging, timely communication, and a professional brand presence across digital and local channels. This role offers hands-on experience in sports marketing and exposure to the operations of a professional arena football league.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact with fans, partners, and internal teams effectively.
  • Candidates should possess Market Research and Marketing Strategy skills to help analyze audiences, monitor trends, and support campaign planning.
  • Candidates should possess Sales and basic Marketing skills to assist with sponsorship outreach, ticket promotions, and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with common digital tools (e.g., social media platforms, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace); experience with design or analytics tools is a plus.
  • Interest in sports marketing or sports management; prior internship or project experience in marketing or communications is beneficial.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
