We continue to strive in that endeavor.Sharyland Water Supply Corporation was created by a group of determined, community-minded men in the 1960's. With the help of Farmers Home Administration, a loan was acquired and construction began to build a rural water system. Initially, 700 property owners committed to take water service once construction was complete. Today, more than 50 years later, there are over 19,000 water connections on the system.The Corporation has approximately 100 square miles of Certified Area, 800 miles of water lines, three water plants, four elevated storage tanks and plans for additional water system improvements in the works.The Corporation has over 100 employees and a 7 person Board of Directors, all of whom are dedicated to the job required to ensure that Sharyland Water Supply Corporation continues to be the best it can be.The Mission of This RoleSafe, reliable drinking water depends on well-run capital work. As Project Manager, you’ll lead infrastructure projects that protect service for our communities and keep schedules, budgets, and quality on track.Key responsibilities:- Plan and deliver utility infrastructure and municipal construction projects from scope through closeout- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders; track progress, risks, and change orders- Support engineering needs (reviews, submittals, field questions) and maintain clear project documentation- Align work with public works and water utility operations priorities, safety expectations, and compliance requirementsRequired qualifications/skills:- Senior-level experience in capital project management within utility infrastructure, municipal construction, engineering support, public works, or water utility operations- Strong communication, organization, and decision-making in an onsite environment-Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Project Management or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and directly related experience that the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions. If you’re ready to manage projects that directly sustain essential water service, apply today.A Typical WorkdayYour day starts onsite in Alton, checking active job sites and confirming the week’s milestones with crews and partners.
