Production Supervisor - Wet Area Operations

Full Time Terre Haute, IN, US

SUMMARY: Responsible supervising production teams in a Wet Area Operations including training, coaching, and developing employees to achieve operational performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follows and supports all Company policies and procedures
  • Support area leader in managing assigned department. In addition, act as a liaison between functional areas and ability to escape as needed.
  • Monitor work schedules and adjust work flows to achieve customer needs
  • Takes all actions and necessary steps to deliver quality product to our customers.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting production training programs within production
  • Supports process improvements in production to increase efficiency
  • Participate and support continuous improvement programs such as SPQDC, Flow, SMED, EPEI, 5S and problem solving within production
  • Ability to capture performance data to identify and achieve necessary KPIโ€™s

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include leading, training, delegating, coaching, and motivating employees within the department. Ability to resolve conflicts and foster a positive work environment. Organize work shifts ensuring that there is adequate team members coverage (s) and resources to meet customer needs.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in business administration, management, or technical field OR 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience includes:
  • Must have prior leadership experience leading, developing, training, and coaching employees on performance
  • Experience with continuous improvement programs such as SPQDC, Flow, SMED, EPEI, 5S and problem solving
  • Experience with high-automated production processes (preferred for pet food).
  • Experience in statistical data interpretation and analysis (e.g., SPC).

Computer and Technology Skills:

The successful candidate must be proficient in MS Office applications, ADP, SAP and or other ERP systems

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. German language speaking skills is another advantage.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
