We are seeking a Sr. Scientist to join our Obesity, Metabolism and Muscle Diseases Group, supporting the identification and validation of novel drug targets for metabolic disorders. In this role, you will design and conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to advance target validation and mechanistic understanding, while collaborating and communicating efficiently across the Obesity, Metabolism and Muscle Diseases Group and other teams and functions.

Discover your role:
  • Identify and implement novel areas, technologies, and approaches for validating targets and target modalities in metabolic disease drug discovery
  • Design and conduct in vitro assays to support target validation
  • Design and perform in vivo studies in animal models to support target validation and mechanistic understanding
  • Analyze data and draw scientifically sound conclusions
  • Provide timely updates on scientific progress, communicating efficiently across teams and functions
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment, staying detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Bring curiosity and a desire to expand your areas of expertise as new questions arise

This role requires:
  • Ph.D. with a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral research experience
  • Broad expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, in vitro assay development, and in vivo techniques
  • Ability to independently design and perform complex in vivo studies, interpret data, and summarize results
  • Expertise in at least one metabolism research area (e.g., diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, lipid and energy metabolism)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a documented strong scientific record
  • Preferred: strong understanding of human and mouse genetics
