This all starts with Rosie: an industrial housekeeping robot for commercial cleaning, which handles dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks. With rising market demand and Tailos's first-mover status, we have partnered with several of the largest hospitality & commercial cleaning companies. Beginning in Austin, we've expanded into markets across the US and Internationally. After launching successful deployments with multiple hospitality companies where dozens of our robots work alongside hotel staff, we are developing new features and enhancing our current software, which ranges from a customer-facing web application to state-of-the-art electronics.

ABOUT YOU
You are motivated and thrive in a highly interdisciplinary environment. You are excited to support bringing products into mass production and see key milestones meet their schedule. You enjoy making things with your hands. You cannot live without access to a laser cutter or 3D printer. You are a self-starter who understands how to prioritize and accomplish tasks independently, and deliver on schedule. You will be on a team working to develop new and exciting robots from clean sheet through to production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to design the next generation of robots
  • Design, prototype, and test parts to meet requirements
  • Design of plastic and metal parts for manufacturing and assembly
  • Working with outside vendors for manufacturing
  • Support testing in the field (in person or remotely)
  • Diagnose and repair Electromechanical systems

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical hardware engineering.
  • Fluent in Solidworks (preferred), or other 3D CAD programs such as Inventor, ProE, CATIA, NX...
  • Experience designing parts for injection molding
  • Experience making 2D drawings
  • Experience with 3D printing, other rapid prototyping techniques
  • Ability to use standard hand tools for troubleshooting automated machinery and installing mechanical components.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of GD&T and documenting proper tolerances
  • Experience with robotics and/or Internet of Things applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems
  • C++ and/or Python development experience
  • AVR/Atmel/Arduino experience
  • Basic electronics work (Soldering, hot-air rework, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Experience designing sheet metal parts
  • Self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in our Austin, TX Office
Pay: $90,000-$115,000
