Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Electromechanical Engineer to consult on a freelance basis with our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrating electronics into product designs, working seamlessly with mechanical and software engineers to develop robust, high-quality products. This role requires a creative problem solver with the ability to explore different technical approaches, balancing usability, cost, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design,develop, and test electro-mechanical systems and components for consumer,medical, and industrial products.
  • Integrateelectronic hardware with mechanical designs, ensuring seamlessfunctionality and performance.
  • Collaboratewith cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, softwaredevelopers, and industrial designers to create cohesive and innovativeproduct solutions.
  • Abilityto develop / program Arduino prototypes of in development projects
  • Driveand explore different solution sets with various technical approaches,balancing usability, cost, and safety considerations.
  • Conductfeasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimations for newprojects.
  • Developand maintain technical documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts,and assembly instructions.
  • Performtroubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Staycurrent with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices inelectro-mechanical engineering.
  • Participatein design reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions forimprovement.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor'sdegree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or arelated field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Provenexperience in designing and integrating electronics into mechanicalsystems.
  • Proficiencyin CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and electronic designautomation (EDA) tools (e.g., Altium SW, Eagle).
  • Strongunderstanding of circuit design, micro-controllers, sensors, and actuators.
  • Experiencewith embedded systems and firmware development is a plus.
  • Excellentproblem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strongcommunication and teamwork abilities.
  • Abilityto manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiaritywith regulatory standards and certification processes for consumer,medical, and industrial products.
