Job description

Overview
Bring your passion and experience to a national interdisciplinary, award-winning design firm and collaborate with industry thought leaders in design, sustainability, and architectural innovation. If you're a licensed CA architect looking to lead complex projects in the Southern California region, this may be the perfect role for you.
This architectural firm fosters an environment where diversity of thought, background, and experience creates new energy. Through curiosity, tenacity, creativity, and unique insights, you can make an impact every day-on colleagues, clients, and those who inhabit the spaces created. The firm is committed to meeting clients' sustainability goals and challenging the industry by developing expertise and research to push beyond net zero energy to net positive energy; from a neutral effect on health, safety, and resources to a positive one. As the need and desire for sustainable environments grow, so does the focus on high-performance buildings with sound data that can be shared with clients and design teams.
This architectural studio is team-oriented and employee-friendly, integrating social activities into the office culture. The firm offers challenges, recognition, and personal visibility, with opportunities to be part of great projects.
The firm has 12 offices all around the nation focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project's design philosophy, provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy, and effectively convey this to assigned team members.
  • Provide technical design input, taking responsibility for the project's technical design efforts, detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control during all phases, closely collaborating with the Senior Designer.
  • Mentor emerging and recently licensed professionals within the practice group.
  • Provide technical and professional oversight as a Senior Project Architect for future project architects within the practice group.
  • Seek creative and innovative solutions, develop appropriate research, and document these solutions.
  • Actively collaborate with and coordinate the work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals.
  • Lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, ensuring complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation.
  • Advance the production of schematic, design development, and construction document drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent.
  • Execute applicable agency review analysis (Accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).
  • Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of professional experience with small-to-large scale project types, including Workplace/Commercial Interiors, Interior Architecture, Core and Shell projects, Adaptive Reuse (multiple program types), Hospitality, and Building Repositioning.
  • Architecture license in California required
  • Current knowledge and use of California Building Codes
  • Experience working with local Building & Safety offices (City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, and other regional municipalities)
  • Experience securing entitlements with the municipalities noted above and/or providing architectural support to land use consultants
  • Experience with private clients/developers and public sector/municipality clients
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools desired
  • Experience with Bluebeam Studio
  • LEED accreditation preferred

Join this dynamic team where your contributions will be recognized and valued, and you'll have the opportunity to work on innovative and impactful projects.
