Job description

Job Title: Commercial Construction Foreman (Architectural Sheet Metal Specialist)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Commercial Construction Foreman with a strong background in Architectural Sheet Metal. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the installation and maintenance of architectural sheet metal systems on commercial construction projects. Your expertise in sheet metal fabrication, installation techniques, and industry standards will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of construction workers, including sheet metal installers and laborers, to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all aspects of the architectural sheet metal installation process, including material procurement, layout, fabrication, and installation.
  • Interpret and analyze construction blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to accurately determine project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to develop detailed construction schedules, ensuring that deadlines are met and milestones are achieved.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, ensure adherence to safety standards, and provide guidance to the construction team.
  • Train and mentor junior team members on proper sheet metal installation techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment, while monitoring inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications, addressing any deviations or non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Proactively identify and resolve construction-related challenges, such as design conflicts, material shortages, and scheduling conflicts, while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, work orders, change orders, and progress photographs, to support project records and facilitate invoicing.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in commercial construction, with a specific focus on architectural sheet metal installation and fabrication.
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural sheet metal systems, including metal roofing, wall cladding, flashing, and architectural components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications related to sheet metal installation.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse construction team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction safety practices and the ability to enforce safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Proficiency in using relevant construction software and tools, such as AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different job sites as required.
