What is architectural drafting?

Architectural drafting is the process of creating detailed drawings and plans used in the design and construction of buildings. These drawings include floor plans, elevations, sections, and other technical details that communicate a building's design to contractors and builders. Architectural drafters use specialized software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, to produce accurate and precise representations of architectural concepts. Their work ensures that architects' ideas are translated into clear, buildable instructions.

You will be mentored directly, trusted with real responsibility early, and given the chance to grow quickly. You do not need to know everything on day one. You do need to be coachable, detail-oriented, hardworking, and eager to improve.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to understand how residential projects actually come together, from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce residential plans, drawings, and 3D models
  • Work in Chief Architect; training will be provided
  • Support design development from concept through construction documents
  • Revise plans based on feedback, site conditions, and realโ€‘world construction needs
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, and field teams
  • Help keep drawing sets accurate, organized, and ready for execution
  • Contribute to a process focused on clarity, buildability, and longโ€‘term quality
Qualifications
  • Early in your career or finishing school in Architecture, Design, or a related field
  • Serious about improving your craft and building a longโ€‘term career
  • Aligned with values of Truth, Trust, and Thankfulness
  • Comfortable receiving direct feedback and applying it quickly
  • Detailโ€‘oriented, accountable, and dependable
  • Familiar with CAD or drafting software and open to learning new systems
  • Interested in residential work and how good design translates into real construction
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range
  • $55,000 - $72,000 per year, based on ability, performance, and growth potential
  • We reward improvement. As your capability increases, your compensation should reflect it.

Benefits include:

  • Full benefits package available after a successful evaluation period
  • Ongoing training in Chief Architect and residential design systems
  • Clear path for advancement as your skills and responsibilities grow
Why This Role Is Different
  • You will not be stuck doing redlines forever.
  • You will not be left guessing what good work looks like.
  • You will not be part of a team that accepts mediocrity.
  • You will be trained.
  • You will be challenged.
  • You will be given the opportunity to grow if you show up ready.

Our goal is to add value to you, your coworkers, and our clients. Letโ€™s build something great together.
