Commercial Sales Trainee - Shaw Contract Connecticut Job Description

Our vast, sustainable product offerings can be found in diverse markets such as workplace, healthcare, hospitality, education, and multi-family dwellings; supporting the spaces in which we work, learn, live, play, and heal.
The Shaw Contract Connecticut team is expanding, and we are looking for driven, relationship-focused individuals to join our January 2027 Commercial Sales Training Program cohort.
We are currently hiring for two trainee positions within the Connecticut market:
  • Dealer / Education / Institutional Trainee

  • A&D / Sustainability Trainee

Potential territory locations include:
  • Stamford, CT

  • New Haven, CT

  • Hartford, CT

The ideal candidate currently lives in, or is willing to relocate to, the Connecticut market following completion of the training program.
About the role:
Commercial Sales Trainees are responsible for learning and executing the sales process within their designated territories while developing strong business relationships across the commercial flooring industry. Trainees must demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced sales environment.
Throughout the program, trainees will gain a comprehensive understanding of Shaw Contract products, market segments, and customer engagement strategies. Individuals in these roles will work closely with architects, designers, dealers, end-users, educational institutions, and other commercial partners to support projects and drive business growth.
