Project Manager - Architecture

Location: Southeast Kansas (National Projects)

As a growing boutique architecture firm with a national reach, we're looking for an experienced Project Manager who is passionate about design excellence, collaborative leadership, and delivering exceptional projects.

If you have extensive experience managing architectural projects-particularly in K-12 or higher education, and are ready to lead projects from concept through completion, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Lead Projects from Start to Finish

  • Manage every phase of the project lifecycle-from planning and design through construction administration and project closeout.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Lead weekly project meetings and proactively resolve issues.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conduct site visits to ensure construction aligns with project intent.

Build High-Performing Teams

  • Mentor architects and designers, supporting their professional growth.

  • Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability.

  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and inclusive team environment.

Maintain Project Excellence

  • Review drawings, specifications, and documentation for quality, code compliance, and constructability.

  • Prepare specification manuals and coordinate complete bid packages.

  • Manage contracts, change orders, approvals, and project documentation.

  • Maintain project management and resource allocation software with weekly updates.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.

  • 15+ years of professional experience in architecture or a related design field.

  • Proven success managing multiple architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration.

  • Strong leadership experience, including mentoring teams and managing project delivery.

  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, and project management software.

  • Thorough knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, permitting, and construction documentation.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with K-12, higher education, or civic architecture.

  • Professional architectural licensure.

  • Experience with BQE Core.

  • Knowledge of public-sector procurement, DSA, or similar regulatory processes.
