You may be involved in researching building codes, developing design concepts, or helping with construction documents. Interns often collaborate closely with licensed architects and engineers, gaining exposure to various project phases and client interactions. This hands-on experience is designed to build your technical skills while providing insight into how architectural firms operate on a daily basis.

What are architect internships?

Architect internships are temporary positions designed for students or recent graduates in architecture who want to gain practical experience in the field. These internships allow aspiring architects to work under the supervision of licensed professionals, helping with design tasks, drafting, project research, and sometimes site visits. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a willingness to learn from feedback set interns apart in this role. These skills and qualities are essential for supporting project work, integrating into professional teams, and developing the expertise needed for future architectural practice.
