Job description

Role: Lead DevOps Architect
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Chicago, IL

Responsibilities
• Lead initiatives to define, design, and implement DevOps solutions: Roadmap, reference architectures, tools recommendations, practices, and processes.
• Consult with a diverse set of IT & Business organizations to define and implement best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, and Platform architecture
• Design, architect, implement and document next generation system architecture and automation solutions
• Responsible for definition of DevOps processes and models required to implement push button deployments into different environments (Dev, QA, Staging, Prod)
• Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices: Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Operations
• Acts as a technical liaison between clients, development, QA, release managements and Operations teams
• Serve as a DevOps and Automation evangelist providing thought leadership, participating in conferences, authoring white papers
Qualifications
Educational Qualification:

• MS (Computer Science) or Equivalent
Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong knowledge and expertise in Continuous Delivery and DevOps solution architectures with solid technical expertise and troubleshooting skills.
• Deep expertise in software development, software testing methodologies, release management and operations processes and standards
• Demonstrated project management experience in Agile (Scrum), project planning, execution, risk management, and resource management
• Application and infrastructure experience in cloud environments: AWS, VMWARE, AZURE
• Experience with automated deployment, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and release management and monitoring tools
• Working knowledge of configuration Management and IT Service Management
• Prior consulting, advisory, or professional services experience
Technology:
• Experience in leading a DevOps Transformation in medium or large enterprises for last 2-3 years
• Strong understanding of operational aspects of IT (ITIL, system administration, infrastructure support)
• 5 years experience in design and architecture of latest development technologies: Java,.NET, Node.js
• Experience in release management and operations procedures, configuration management, IT service management
• Experience with cloud technologies: Infra as a service and Platform as a service
• Experience in micro services architecture a plus
Soft Skills:
• Experience with client facing consulting engagements
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong executive presence and ability to interact at all levels including CxO level; be able to lead deep-dive technical discussions around design
• Mentors team members in technology, architecture and delivery of applications
• Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are required
