Experience and/or training in collaboration in the developing, organizing, managing, and teaching the Biological Anthropology Lab, incorporating contemporary methods, techniques, and technologies. Experience and/or training in teaching multiple modalities, including in-person, hybrid, and online/distance education classes as part of the regular contract as assigned.
Participate in curriculum development and serve on department, division, college and district committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participate in appropriate professional development activities. Participate in co-curricular activities, including planning, implementing, and teaching in special programs designed to support student success. Participate in the formulation of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the Student Learning Outcomes assessment cycle.
Maintain formal office and campus hours; participate in department and division meetings. Maintain current knowledge of instructional methods and new technologies pertinent to areas of assignment; learn and apply emerging technologies and advances (e.g., computer software applications) as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized and timely manner. Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions. Develop culturally relevant course content, culturally responsive pedagogical techniques, and effective practices for engaging students who are diverse and/or are students who are historically underserved. The ideal candidate should have experience in this area with African American, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders and other disproportionately impacted students.

Desirable Qualifications: DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Preferred graduate degree in Anthropology in the four field approach, as evidenced by academic coursework and/or training in the four fields (cultural, biological/physical, linguistic/language and cultural, and archaeology). Evidenced by academic coursework and/or training such as internships, fieldwork, etc. Experience and/or training teaching biological anthropology lecture and lab and other relevant introductory courses in anthropology.
Experience designing and teaching curricula responsive to the needs of historically underrepresented and/or marginalized students. Evidence of participation in professional and pedagogical growth (ongoing education via coursework, conferences, lectures, etc.) Demonstrated collaborative engagement as evidenced by participation in venues such as field trips, committee work, events, etc. Demonstrated commitment to student centered learning, cultural understanding, and increasing student retention and success via experience, training, conferences, lectures, and coursework
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively and effectively as a part of a team. Demonstrated experience successfully teaching college level anthropology courses. Demonstrated competence, understanding, and assessment of the latest technological advances, including Artificial Intelligence and other computer/information programs through a commitment to professional development in Artificial Intelligence relevant topics through trainings, conferences, certifications, etc.
