The Royal Caribbean Group's IT Onboard Guest Experience Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Platform Engineer reporting to the Manager, Product.

This position is onsite and based in Miramar, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Lead, Platform Engineering - Gaming New Tech & Infrastructure owns the technical strategy, architecture, and platform health for Royal Caribbean Group's casino and gaming technology - a $2B business ($2.5B+ by 2031) spanning slots, tables, arcade, bingo, cage / cashless, player tracking, and the Casino Operations Hub.

This role bridges execution, architecture, and real-time fleet alignment as the organization brings gaming technology in-house - starting with internally built arcade readers - reducing vendor dependence and unlocking new revenue levers across a complex, multi-vendor systems landscape.

The Lead provides technical direction and decision authority across gaming systems, drives deployment and upgrade strategy, and coordinates cross-org and external partners to sustain platform growth, security, and reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Direction
  • Provide technical direction and decision authority across all casino and gaming systems; lead through influence and coordinate Manila resources.
  • Bridge product, architecture, and operations to sustain platform growth and real-time fleet alignment.
  • Set the deployment, upgrade, and modernization strategy for gaming platforms.
ย Platform Strategy & Architecture
  • Own integration patterns and architecture across slots (Aristocrat), tables (Genesis / Bravo, table tracking), arcade (Intercard, Valsoft / CoreCashless), bingo, cage & cashless (CageXchange, CashClub), player tracking, and the Casino Operations Hub.
  • Standardize and modernize a multi-vendor landscape into a reliable, integrated platform.
  • Ensure high availability and performance across the fleet, including concurrent Newbuild and Dry Dock deployments.
ย In-House Capability & New Tech
  • Lead the shift to internally built capability - starting with internally built arcade readers and L&W table progressives - and evaluate build-vs-buy across the portfolio.
  • Drive net-new products entering the gaming portfolio: Sports Betting ($120B market) and iGaming ($110B), plus eWallet and social gaming.
  • Reduce reliance on external vendors while protecting reliability and compliance.
ย Security, Stability & Real-Time Integrations
  • Own security remediations, certifications, and stability across gaming systems.
  • Deliver complex, real-time integrations - rewards, offers, and player-tracking data across systems.
  • Maintain regulatory and compliance alignment across jurisdictions.
ย Cross-Functional & Fleet Alignment
  • Partner with Casino Operations, Commercial, Compliance, and external vendors; serve as Newbuild and Dry Dock point of contact for gaming.
  • Coordinate cross-org initiatives and align priorities across diverse teams and functions.
ย  Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
ย Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
ย Experience
  • 6+ years in platform/systems engineering including team leadership.
  • Experience owning deployment standards and managing contractor talent.
ย Skills
  • People and delivery leadership; standardization and automation focus.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and scale teams.
ย Technical / Functional Skills
  • Hands-on configuration, deployment, environment setup, and integration expertise.
