Robotic Welding Machine Operator (Weekend Shift)  -  BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, OH

Candidates please note: This position is available on our weekend shift which consists of twelve (12) hours on Saturday and Sunday and eight (8) hours on Monday (the eight shift could be Friday instead of Monday); work thirty two (32) hours and get paid for forty (40) hours.  Scheduled off days are Tuesday through Friday or Monday through Thursday depending upon the shift.  Training will be on the Monday - Friday crew before being assigned to the weekend crew. 

We are currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a robotic welding operator position at our facility in Barberton, Ohio.  The successful candidate will operate submerged arc welding, cladding machines and automatic and robotic (MotoMan and Gantry robots) metal inert gas equipment to produce quality welds.  Identify and perform basic layout to determine clad limits.  Responsible for using proper wire and flux for the job.  Inspects welds, grinds and arc airs to remove defects.  Attach preheat torches inside and outside and maintains proper preheat temperatures.

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • All applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment weld screen.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints
  • A minimum of two (2) years' welding experience or a combination of welding experience and formal training/education is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED is required and graduation will be verified
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must be open and available to working all shifts
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check

The hourly rate for this position is up to $38.42 and is complemented by a very generous benefit package. Upon an offer, a relocation package is available for eligible candidates.

The starting rate for this position in Ohio (US-OH) is $40.34 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
