Job description

CAD Operator – Digital Engineering

Location: Georgetown, KY
Department: Battery Pack Production Engineering

Engineering team is seeking a CAD Operator – Digital Engineering to support digital manufacturing initiatives during new model development. This role will focus on digital twins, reality capture, AR/VR integration, and 3D modeling technologies to help improve engineering efficiency and reduce project lead times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support digital twin models using laser scanning and point cloud data.

  • Develop and maintain 3D equipment libraries and plant layouts.

  • Convert scan data and create Navisworks study files for engineering teams.

  • Support AR/VR engineering visualization tools and configure 3D files for headset use.

  • Manage CAD support requests and assist engineering teams with modeling needs.

  • Collaborate with Toyota engineering teams, vendors, and global manufacturing groups.

Requirements
  • BS in Design Engineering Technology or related field, or 2–3 years equivalent experience

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD / Autodesk products

  • Experience with CATIA (Dassault Systems)

  • Experience with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit

  • Experience with Autodesk Vault

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

Preferred Experience
  • Automotive or manufacturing environment

  • Laser scanning / point cloud data

  • Navisworks

  • AR/VR or digital twin technologies

  • 3D printing

Additional Information
  • Ability to work overtime up to 25%
