The Aquatic Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of attractions and equipment located within waterpark or aquatics facilities. This position completes preventative maintenance, testing attractions, adjusting controls, diagnoses issues, ensuring water quality, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur.
This position plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of water park rides and attractions, which, in turn, strengthens guest satisfaction.

We are currently looking for a:

Adventureland Park - Aquatics Maintenance Technician

Roles & Responsibilities:

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Conduct daily pre-opening inspections ofwaterslides and pools to ensure there are no safety or performance issues.

    • Ensures that all pools are chemically balanced for operation according to codes and

    standards set by state and local Health Department and park management

    • Ability torespond to trouble calls,diagnose,and correct mechanical issues.

    • Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.

    • Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers'requirements and specifications.

    • Perform preventative maintenance such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC Cleaning, door/ lock repair, plumbing, cleaning, painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that arise

    • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

    • Utilize the proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job.

    • Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner

    • Complete repair work ordersin a timely manner.

    • Keep maintenance andParkleadershipfully informed ofcurrent issues.

    • All other duties assigned by leadership

    Education and Experience:

    • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered

    • 2+yearspreviouswork experience in maintenance or mechanicshighlydesired.

    • 1-2yearspreviousworkexperience at a waterpark, swimming pool, or other aquatics-related facility is preferred

    • Working knowledgewith water chemistry, pumps, and motorshighly desired

    Language:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

    Requirements:

    • Must be atleast 18 years of age tocomply withIowaChildLabor Laws

    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close

    • Mustpossessstrong mechanical aptitude and ability toutilizea variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner

    • Mustpossessa general practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and carpentry; knowledge of pumps and motors a plus

    • Ability to read andcomprehendride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings

    • Familiarity and experience with fiberglass and other water slide structures a plus

    • Familiarity with state and local codes as they relate to Aquatics attractions

    • Must provide own tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, standard socket set up to 1 inch, and metric socket set up to24mm.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat forlong periodsof time

    • Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday

    • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objectsweighing 75 poundsor more

    • Ability to work in allnon-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts

    • Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools

    • Ability to see differences between colors and brightness

    • Ability to seedetails of objects that are more than a few feet away

    Working Conditions:

    • Frequent exposure to water and pool cleaning chemicals

    • Frequent exposure to thevariable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

    • Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases

    • Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE isrequiredin these situations.

    • Subject to working at heights greater than 100 feet
