DuPont is looking for a Quality Engineer that will serve as the engineering resource for quality improvements pertaining to the manufacture of Vespel Parts and Shapes at the Pencader site in Newark, DE. The primary function of this job is to provide technical expertise in Quality Assurance and is recognized as a leader in that technology.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous improvement by utilizing statistical tools to identify problems with the manufacture, supply, and inspection of Vespel products

  • Translate customer quality requirements into executable plans that incorporate the development of site capabilities

  • Coordinate capability studies and completes Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

  • Execute and monitor completion of Control Plans

  • Complete Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) for new parts

  • Lead resolution of supplier and customer quality issues in a timely manner and implement effective corrective and preventive actions

  • Coordinate the disposition of parts routed through the Material Review Board (MRB) and lead programs to reduce the number of non-conforming parts

  • Conduct internal system and process audits and monitor the corrective action plans

  • Leverage best practices from other Vespel and DuPont sites

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors (or higher) degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline

  • 5 years of experience in the Quality field in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience using Root Cause Analysis to resolve problems

  • Direct experience with and knowledge of ISO9001 (required), IATF16949, and AS9100 Quality Management systems (preferred)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a range of personnel

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated experience in quality auditing, data analysis and use of statistical process control

  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity with:

    • Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)

    • Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)

    • Control Plans

    • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

  • Knowledge and experience with ISO17025 Quality system

  • ASQ-Quality Engineer Certification (preferred)

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification (preferred)

  • Supplier Quality Engineering experience

  • Interface with customer on quality and technical issues

  • GD&T
