Restoration Workshop, Ltd. is a San Francisco based general contracting firm specializing in restoration and preservation of fine, historic architecture. We are a small, craft-focused company located in San Francisco’s Mission district. We specialize in custom solutions to vexing problems that defy a cookie-cutter approach. Restoration Workshop's services include restoration and preservation project management, exceptional finish carpentry, fabrication of fine custom cabinetry and mill work, preservation and landmarks consulting, and general remodeling. We are a tight-knit, growing company and we want someone who wants to grow with us.

This position is for an apprentice carpenter with some prior trade experience. We provide excellent on-the-job training and experience in diverse aspects of restoration and finish carpentry.  We have two levels of apprentice positions and will evaluate a candidate’s experience to see where they fit in.  This is not a position for a laborer, and only candidates with some experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry, or architectural millwork will be considered.

Professional skills:

Experience both in shop and out in the field (a plus)
 Expertise in framing and structural carpentry (a plus)
 Interest in learning to read plans and specifications
 Cabinetry and woodworking experience (a plus)
 Familiarity with a variety of woods and finishes
Solid understanding of practical geometry
