What You'll Do
As an Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter, you'll work alongside licensed journeymen to install, modify, and service fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings. This is a hands-on, learn-while-you-earn role tied to a registered apprenticeship program.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the installation of sprinkler piping, heads, hangers, and related components following approved blueprints and NFPA 13/13R/13D standards
- Cutting, threading, grooving, and joining pipe using hand and power tools
- Helping with system testing, flushing, and inspections
- Maintaining a clean and safe job site in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Attending all required apprenticeship classes and completing coursework on schedule
- Performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Enrollment in, or eligibility for, a UA (United Association) or equivalent registered apprenticeship program
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- Reliable attendance - this role requires consistent on-site presence
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily at active construction sites. Exposure to varying temperatures, heights, confined spaces, and loud equipment is expected. PPE is required and provided.
